DC Shorts Film Festival website
Film festivals are a key factor in the distributon of short films. They are a helpful in making films, and short films recognised, as awards from film festivals can boost the popularity of the film. An example of this is 'DC Shorts Film Festival'.

There is also the 'Manhattan Short Film Festival' which is held annualy in New York.
