Viral Marketing Research

Viral Marketing Research
Viral marketing is a type of marketing techniques which relies on and encourages people to pass along a marketing message by word of mouth. Online viral marketing uses blog and social media networks to produce positive word of mouth brand awareness to encourage people to want to watch the film.

The internet makes it possible for a campaign to go viral very fast. However the internet and social media technologies do not make a brand viral they just give people the ability to share the content with friends and other people much faster. For a campaign to be successful it must be:
  • appealing to the audience
  • worth sharing with family and friends
  • a large platform must be used, for example; Youtube or Facebook
  • an initial boost to gain attention, for example, sharing to Facebook fans.
  • the content must be good quality.
